Athletic Sports
Originating at the ancient Olympic Games and improved through festivals and fairs throughout the world, athletics is still the major content of modern day Olympic Games. Track and field events bannered within this sporting category, total a number of 46 individual events heralding the Olympic motto of Citius-Altius-Fortius or to 21st century beings, Faster-Higher- Stronger.

Bath University student Craig Pickering is just one home grown talent to emerge on the sprint scene for Great Britain in recent events, and who will be contesting strongly for his team in the forthcoming 2012 London Olympic Games.

With the inclusion of women taking part in athletics back in 1928, the sport has strengthened throughout the world in both individual and team events. With many athletic clubs and leagues throughout Great Britain, there is endless opportunity to either join as a participant or watch sporting meetings close to your home.
