Tennis
Although Tennis was included in the line-up at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, in 1896, it subsequently got dropped from the agenda and wasn't reinstated until the Seoul games in 1988. The competition consists of singles matches and doubles and there are four gold medals available.
London benefits from already having a purpose built centre for the tennis matches at the 2012 Olympics - the famous All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, in Wimbledon, south west London. Well known for hosting the annual Wimbledon Championships each summer, the venue has a fantastic capacity and will host up to 30,000 people.
One tennis player who's hoping to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games, representing Great Britain, is the well-known Andy Murray. His older brother, Jamie, plays too and they may even get the chance to play doubles matches at 2012 together.
